Home Seller's Checklist

Early correction of cosmetic and maintenance issues can increase a home's appeal and selling price.  The maintenance improvements listed below are relatively easy and inexpensive to make, and will give it the competitive edge it needs to achieve your selling goal for maximum price.

  • Clean - a dirty home is a major turn off for buyers. No one can envision themselves living in a home that is dirty.
  • Declutter - pack up all personal belongings and get down to the bare minimums for living. Pay extra attention to the kitchen, bathrooms, and closets.
  • Maintain the Yard - cut the grass, pull the weeds, and trim trees & shrubs to accentuate curb appeal.
  • Make simple improvements - re-caulk grout, replace dirty air filters, replace burned-out light bulbs, clean windows, repair leaky faucets, secure loose door handles.
  • Get An Outsider's Opinion - invite a friend or family member over to look at your home as if they were looking to buy it. Don't be insulted by recommendations they make.
